The Sunflower Room
The Sunflower Room is located, quite simply, in the most tranquil, idyllic setting you can imagine set amongst rolling fields it is perfect for our 2 and 3 year olds. Within quiet surroundings and with a truly stunning outlook the setting is perfect for our 2-3 year olds as they gain skills to equip them as they grow in independence and gain confidence.
Our Sunflower Room is set up as an open plan area, allowing children to choose between clearly labelled resources, that they can access freely. This encourages children to start to make their own choices and decisions about their activities and develops independence and confidence. Every area is set up specifically for younger children to ensure it is accessible for all. Children in this room have access to free flow play and enjoy spending time in our discovery, role play, home and construction areas or taking time away in our book corner. They enjoy painting and mark making and have access to exploring the sand and water on the covered outside terrace.
Staff encourage children to take part in an adult led activity daily which is incorporated within the weekly planning to ensure children are provided with challenging activities in order to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children are planned for on an individual basis so that the children's interests are incorporated into the planning of activities and are encouraged to participate in preparing snacks, tidying up, setting up for lunches and putting on coats to develop independence.
Fields with cows, sheep and horses provides a back drop for the Sunflower Room outdoor area and allows us many walks around the fields and even story time in the outside classroom! We enjoy our choice of real grass and soft play outside areas, an extensive mud kitchen, fabulous multi sensory climbing frame and slide alongside bikes, scooters and balance beams allowing children a wide variety of activities to choose from. The Room is lead by Lucy, who alongside her experienced and enthusiastic team provides endless choices in activities for fun, stimulating play with passion and enthusiasm in a calm and relaxed environment.

Parents Comments:
During pick up this evening, I was provided an update relating to the progress of N's nappy training.
I want to share how happy both G and I am with his development since joining the nursery. The follow up email from yourself last week regarding N's potty training consolidated this and has been incredibly welcomed. - the ongoing communication and dialogue since September, on a day to day basis, has been exceptional. As is the engagement and care from your colleagues - N has significantly grown in confidence and is extremely happy whilst at nursery.
